Key Components

1. Transcoder

• Hardware Acceleration: The transcoder utilizes NVIDIA graphic accelerators for efficient media stream transcoding.
• Output Streams: Provides output streams via Multicast for further use by third-party systems. When working with Storage, a proprietary high-efficiency protocol is used.
• Redundancy: Integration with Storage enables transcoding redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted service if one of the transcoders fails.

2. Storage

• Purpose: Storage works with streams received from the transcoder and ensures efficient content storage and retrieval.
• Redundancy: The number of Storage units in the system is unrestricted and can be adjusted to meet your service requirements. The management system allows for flexible storage configuration, enabling resource sharding practices and the use of storage "mirroring" for particularly popular content.
• Memory Write Mode: This mode is provided for channels available only for broadcast.

3. Streamer

• Live and Archived Broadcasting: Enables streaming of both live and archived broadcasts (pseudo-live streams that can loop continuously as long as recording is ongoing).
• Session Control: Manages user sessions and protects streams with TVIP CAS and Widevine security systems.

Frontend Server

It is recommended to use nginx for efficient content distribution, both within a CDN and for single-point streaming.

Media Track Management: Channel Manager

The entire system is managed from a single panel, which provides:

• Inventory of input streams
• A simple, user-friendly interface for managing channels and their configurations on Mira servers
• Configuration generation for nginx based on the overall video track configuration
• Real-time monitoring of input and output video streams
